Nothing says “Happy Valentine’s Day” like a delicious cupcake from Blackbird Bakery, and that cupcake tastes even sweeter when it helps working, uninsured individuals access quality, compassionate, charitable health care.

Each donation helps underwrite the cost of patient care expenses, including medical, dental and vision services. In exchange for your generous donation of $50, the person of your choice will receive a hand delivered cupcake on Valentine’s Day a personalized card with your special message and a note indicating that “a gift has been made to Healing Hands Health Center in your honor”. Cupcakes are beautifully designed and graciously donated by Blackbird Bakery of Bristol, Virginia.

The Junior League of Bristol, in conjunction with the Bristol, VA Parks & Recreation Department has approved our community project for the 2018-2019 League Year - a sensory board at Sugar Hollow Park in Bristol, VA. In previous years, playground equipment has been donated by the Junior League of Bristol at Sugar Hollow Park, and the addition of a sensory board and panels not only provides safe and stimulating play for children with special needs, but appeals to children of all ages.

We are excited to begin working on construction of this project with our anticipated completion date scheduled for Spring/Summer 2019.

Focus on Community

Thank you from the bottom of our JLB hearts to each individual who donated items, worked before/during/after our Bargain Bonanza, shopped with us, provided a monetary donation, or sent well wishes from afar! Bargain Bonanza was a huge success and we appreciate each of you!

The money raised from Bargain Bonanza 2018 will be used in conjunction with the Bristol, Virginia Parks & Recreations Department,  to  purchase and install sensory boards for special needs children at Sugar Hollow Park. Please see our Project Spotlight section below for additional details and for updates on the progression of bringing our project to life!

Junior League of Bristol uses Little Free Libraries to aid new Literacy Campaign

June 30, 2018

Thanks to participation in an innovative program promoting literacy, the Junior League of Bristol has joined with the Bristol, Tennessee, city schools and members of a local Boy Scout to get more books in the hands of potential readers.

Known as the Little Free Library project, the program promotes a love of books and reading by getting written works into the hands of as many readers as possible.

Our committment to improving the community cannot succeed with out support from our membership and community.

We're all involved in service everyday. Most of us are driven to serve; an almost longing to help others. This is a service heart. Bring along your heart for service as a member of JLB.

Orders of ten or more cupcakes will receive the cupcakes for a donation of just $25 each
